My name is Lorenzo Galli, I'm a 21 yo Italian student-athlete. I've been sprinting and long jumping since I was 6, and so is my huge love for track and field.
I am an Informatics student at the University of Pisa, recently on exchange at the University of Italian Switzerland (USI). I am also a Student-Athlete, enrolled in the Dual Career program at UNIPI.

Being just an athlete wasn't enough for me, which is why in 2021 I joined the officials team for the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL). In 2023, I discovered my passion for photography and decided to buy a used camera along with a couple of lenses to start this journey. I began by shooting at regional meets when I wasn't competing, and last year I had the opportunity to work with Atletica Italiana during the U20/U23 National Championships in Rieti, which was an incredible experience. I also worked for FTAL in 2025.
In 2025, during my studies at USI, I had the chance to teach the course "Introduction to Sport Analytics", a project in which students learn how to analyze race data, clean and visualize performance trends, with the final goal of building a basic predictive model.

My goal is to combine sports with data science and data analysis. I want to explore how data can be used to optimize athletic performance, prevent injuries, and support decision-making for both athletes and coaches.
By studying advanced analytical tools, my goal is to contribute to the next generation of tech solutions in the sports industry.
